Ingredients
Rice flour-1 cup
Water-1.5 cup
Salt-as needed
Oil
Method of Preparation
- In a bowl take water and allow it to boil for 2-3 minutes.Switch off the flame as soon as u see few big bubbles.It will be the right for the flour to cook and u will get soft dough.
- In a vessel keep the flour mixed with salt.Add this water little by little to the flour and mix well with a spoon and make the dough
- The dough consistency should be as shown as in the below picture
- Now take the idiyappam maker and fill it with the dough
- Close the lid and grease the idly mould with oil to prevent sticking
- Squeeze the dough on to the idly plates in a circular motion
- Sprinkle some grated coconut on top
- Steam it for 10 to 15 minutes or till its done in a idly mould, Allow it to cool for a while and carefully remove the idiyappam to a serving plate
- Serve hot with coconut milk and sugar or Stew or Egg roast as you like
