Instant Tomato Rasam

Rasam is a south indian soup. Today I am Posing here the recipe of a rasam which is very easy to prepare. It doesn’t require tamarind.This rasam is prepared with tomatoes,black pepper and cumin. You can also try this recipe and let me know how it turned out for you.




Preparation Time:5 minutes
Cooking Time:10 minutes
Servings:4 People

Ingredients

Tomatoes-2
Black Pepper-1 tsp
Cumin seeds-1 tsp
Curry leaves-few

For the seasoning:

Ghee-1 tsp
Mustard seeds-1 tsp
Curry leaves-few

For Garnishing:

Coriander leaves-few

Method Of Preparation

  • Grind Pepper and cumin seeds without adding water and keep it aside.This you can use as the rasam powder
  • Boil tomatoes in water for 5 minutes 
  • Then remove the skin and mash the tomatoes well
  • Add the grounded rasam powder,salt, curry leaves and water in it and let it boil for 5 minutes
  • Switch off the flame once froth starts forming at the top
  • Heat ghee in a pan and add mustard seeds in it, when it splutters and curry leaves in it and pour it over the rasam
  • Finally garnish it with coriander leaves
