Hope you all got the recipe of my cauliflower curry,which is different in taste. Here comes another recipe with cauliflower that is Gobi Manchurian. I used to prepare this with fried rice when any guests are coming in my house. I am sure that all will like the taste of this Gobi Manchurian. I will post the recipe of my friend rice later. Today we can learn how to prepare Gobi Manchurian. Gobi Manchurian is an Indian Chinese fried cauliflower food item popular in India. In its two stage preparation,the first stage requires preparing a spiced cornflour batter,dipping cauliflower florets in it and deep frying them. In the second stage the deep fried florets are sauteed with chopped onion, capsicum, garlic,etc.in soy and chili sauce. Let us come to the recipe. Ingredients

Cauliflower-1 medium size, cut into bite size florets
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Water-for cooking cauliflower
Oil-for deep frying


For Batter:

All Purpose flour-/Maida-1/2 cup
Cornflour-1/4 cup
Red chili powder-1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Water-1/2 cup or as needed


For Sauce:

Oil-3 tbs
Onion-1,finely chopped
Ginger garlic paste-1 tbs
Capsicum-1,finely chopped
Red chili powder-1 tsp
Soy sauce-1 1/2 tbs
Chili sauce-1/2 tbs
Tomato ketchup-2 tbs
Sugar-1 tsp
Corn flour-1 tsp
Water-3 tbs
Spring onion-2 tbs,finely chopped


Method Of Preparation
  • Boil water in a pan and add salt and turmeric powder in it. Add cauliflower florets in it and cook for 5 to 7 minutes till the cauliflower is done. Drain excees water and pat dry florets on tissue paper
  • Heat oil for deep frying
  • Mix all ingredients for batter to a little thick paste.
  • Dip cauliflower in batter and fry till golden. Drain the excees oil in tissue paper and set aside
  • Next we can make sauce. Heat oil in a pan. Add onion and capsicum along with some salt and sugar. Cook it till onion gets golden brown color
  • Add in ginger garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes
  • Add soy sauce,chili sauce, tomato ketchup and redchili powder and saute well and cook for a minute till oil seperates
  • Once the gravy thickened add the fried gobi and mix well
  • Take cornflour in a bowl and add some water in it and make it into a runny liquid
  • Pour that in and toss well
  • Add spring onions in it and mix well
  • Serve it hot as a side dish
