Please click on the above links for the recipes. Here I am posting the recipe of Chana Dal Kheer / Kadala Parippu Payasam which is very easy to prepare and very tasty also. I added Sago / Sabudana along with chana dal for making this Kheer / Payasam. It enhances the taste of this kheer. You can also try this recipe. Ingredients

Chana dal / Kadala Parippu-1/2 cup
Sago / Sabudana-1/2 cup
Grated Jaggery-3/4 cup
Thick Coconut milk-1 cup
Cardamon Powder-1/4 tsp
Cashew nuts and raisins-1/4 cup
Ghee- 1 tbs


Method Of Preparation
  • Wash and soak chana dal and sago separately in water for at least 1 hour
  • Take 1/2 cup water in a pan and add jaggery in it, then melt it on low flame.
  • Boil the jaggery syrup on low to medium flame until it thicken slightly. Do not burn it
  • Set this aside to cool completely
  • Add 1/2 cup of water to the chana dal and cook it till it is half cooked
  • Add sago and pour coconut milk in this.stir it well and cook until the chanan dal and sago are cooked well
  • Add cardamon powder and jaggery syrup in this and mix well and cook it for 5 minutes or until it begins to bubble up. Stir it well
  • Heat ghee in a pan and fry cashew nuts and raisins in it 
  • Finally add the fried cashew nuts and raisins to the kheer
  • Yummy Chana Dal Kheer / Kadala Parippu Payasam is ready to serve hot
