I made this cake for new year on Jan 1st, but today only i got time for posting recipe of this simple vanilla cake. I used whipped cream frosting for this cake. You can use any frosting for this cake. Today I would like to share with you the recipe of simple vanilla cake. I know that the decorations i made on this cake are not good. I am still learning to make decorations on cakes. This cake is very simple and easy to make, so everyone can try it. Let me know your feedback.


Ingredients

All purpose flour(maida)-2 cup
Baking soda-1 tsp
Baking powder-1 1/2 tsp
Salt-1/2 tsp
Granulated sugar-1 1/2 cup
Egg-4
Vegetable oil-1 cup(any flavorless oil)
Vanilla extract-2 tsp

For Frosting

Heavy whipping cream- 1 cup
Granulated white sugar- 1-2 tbs
Vanilla extract-1/2 tsp


Method Of Preparation
  • Preheat the oven at 180 degree C (350 F)for 15 minutes
  • Grease the baking tray with butter and dust flour or spray non-stick cooking spray along the sides and middle of the baking tray
  • Mix all the dry ingredients-Maida,Baking soda,Baking powder,salt and cinnamon powder in a bowl
  • Beat eggs well(I used whisk for beating)
  • Add sugar little by little and beat till sugar dissolves
  • Add vanilla essence and mix well
  • Add 1 cup oil and beat it well
  • Add flour little by little in to this mixture and mix well
  • Bake for 30 minutes at 180 degree C (350 F).(Insert a toothpick into the center of the cake.if it came out clean,then the cake is ready)
  • Remove from oven and place directly into the freezer for 45 minutes.This will make the cake very moist
  • For Frosting place your mixing bowl and whisk in freezer for about 15-30 minutes
  • Using the chilled whisk beat the whipping cream until frothy in the chilled bowl
  • Add the sugar and vanilla gradually while beating
  • Beat until it becomes light and a thick enough consistency to spread as an icing.
  • Spread it on cooled cake and decorate the cake as you like by adding food colors in the frosting cream
