Today I am posting here the recipe of a cake. This cake is made without oven and cake pan. On the day, my daughter turned 11/2 years, I thought to make something special for her, then my husband only suggested this cake recipe to try. We used to prepare cake in pan and oven, but this time thought to try something different. We can find many cake recipes which are made in cooker, but very few recipes are there which are made without cake pan/tin. In this recipe I poured the cake batter directly into cooker and placed an aluminum lid over the stove, this will act as a barrier between flame and cooker and prevent the cake from burning. It came out well for me. You can try this recipe, when u want to make cake, but don’t have cake pan and oven  with you for making cake. Let me know your feedback.

Ingredients
Egg-2
Sugar-1/2 cup
Maida (All purpose flour)-1/2 cup
Baking Soda-1/2 tsp
Vanilla essence-1tsp
Salt-a pinch


Method Of Preparation
  • Take egg in a bowl
  • Beat it well using a whisk or mixer, untill it turns fluffy
  • Then add sugar little by little into it and beat well until creamy consistency
  • Take maida (All purpose flour) and baking soda in a bowl. Mix it well and sift it. We need to sift this mix for making the cake soft
  • Add this flour mix into the egg sugar mix
  • Now combine everything well using a whisk, no need to beat it now. Cake may become hard if we beat it again, so just mix everything well using whisk
  • Add vanilla essence and salt into it and mix well
  • Cake batter is now ready
  • Take a pressure cooker and grease it with little oil or ghee
  • Pour the cake batter into it and level it
  • Add cashew nuts and raisins on top for decoration
  • Switch on the stove and place an aluminum lid on top of the stove
  • Place the cooker on top of the the lid,this will act as a barrier between flame and cooker and prevent the cake from burning.
  • Close the cooker and remove the weight of the cooker
  • Cook it on low flame for 25-30 minutes
  • After 25 minutes open the cooker and check
  • Insert a toothpick in the middle of the cake to check it is cooked well or not, if it came out clean, then cake is ready. if the batter is sticking on toothpick, then close the cooker and cook it for another few minutes in low flame until it is cooked well
  • Once the cake is done allow it to cool down for few minutes
  • Once its cooled down completely, then use a knife to separate the cake from side of the cooker
  • Then take out the cake from cooker and place it on a plate
  • Soft sponge cake is now ready to serve
