Nentrapazham Pulissery Recipe with Video Recipe. Pulissery ia a main dish of kerala sadhya. It is a yogurt based curry. We will prepare this curry with fruits like mango, pineapple and ripe plantainThis curry has sweet and sour taste. Yogurt gives the sour taste for this curry and sweet taste comes from the fruits that we are adding in this curry. In this recipe I added nentrapazham/ripe plantain as fruit. This curry is very delicious and very easy to prepare. Try this recipe and let me know how it turned out for you.


Ingredients
For Coconut Paste

Grated Coconut- 1 cup
Greenchilies-1 to 2
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Other Ingredients
Nentra pazham / Ripe Plantain-3nos
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Redchilli powder- 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Water-1 cup
Curd/Yogurt-1 cup (whisked)
For Tempering

Coconut oil- 2 tbs
Mustard seeds-1/4 tsp
Dry redchillies- 3 to 4
Fenugreek seeds-1/4 tsp
Curry leaves
Method Of Preparation

  • In a mixer add grated coconut, greenchilli and cumin seeds. Grind it to a fine paste by adding enough water. Keep it aside
  • In a clay pot add nentra pazham/ripe plantain. Then add turmeric powder, redchilli powder and salt into it. Add 1 cup water into it and mix well. Cook it until nentrapazham/ripe plantain becomes soft
  • Once nentrapazham/ripe plantain becomes soft add grounded coconut paste into it and mix well
  • Bring it to a boil. Once it started to boil switch off the flame and add whisked curd into it and mix well
  • Next we will do the tempering. For that heat coconut oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, dry redchillies and curry leaves into it. Splutter the tempering
  • Add the tempering to the curry and mix it.
  • Nentrapazham pulissery/ Ripe plantain curd curry is now ready to serve
