Instant Plum Cake Recipe Without Alcohol | Plum Cake Recipe Without Oven | Christmas Special with Video Recipe.  Hello Friends, As you all are getting ready for christmas celebrations, here is a recipe of plum cake that is perfect for christmas. This recipe is alcohol free and you no need to soak the dry fruits in advance so you can make this cake instantly just before you need it. It is very easy to make, it came out well for me, the cake was very soft and it’s taste was equivalent to the taste of the cake that we used to buy from bakeries. Ingredients

Dry Fruits

Black Raisins- 1/4 sup
Yellow Raisins-1/4 cup
Dates-1/4 cup (chopped)
Tutti Frutti-1/4 cup
Cashewnuts-1/2 cup
Orange Juice-1/2 cup
Honey-1 tbs


For Soaking

Orange Juice-1/2 cup
Honey-1 tbs
Spice Powders

Cardamom Powder-1/4 tsp
Cinnamon Powder-1/4 tsp
Nutmeg Powder-1/4 tsp

For Caramel

Sugar-1/2 cup
Water-3 tbs
Hot water-1/4 cup

For Cake

All Purpose Flour-1 cup+ 3tbs
Baking Powder-1 tsp
Baking Soda-1/2 tsp
Salt-1/4 tsp
Egg-3
Powdered Sugar-1 cup
Orange Peel-1 tsp
Vanilla extract-1 tsp
Oil-1/2 cup (flavorless oil)

Method Of Preparation

  • Chop all the dry fruits into small pieces
  • In a pot add chopped dried fruits then pour orange juice and honey into it and mix well. Keep it aside for for 10 minutes
  • After 10 minutes, Cook it on low flame until all the water contents are absorbed by dry fruits. It should become dry completely so that the dry fruits absorbs the orange juice completely. (This step eliminates the step of soaking dry fruits in advance)
  • Put off the flame and transfer it into a plate. Allow it to cool down completely
  • Once it’s cooled down, add 3 tbsp all purpose flour to the cooled dry fruits and mix well. this step helps the dry fruits not to sink to the bottom of the cake.
  • For preparing caramel, add 1/2 cup of sugar and 3 tbsp water in a heavy bottomed pan and mix well, heat it on medium flame
  • With in few minutes it will change into liquid then it will begin to change colour,when the colour becomes dark brown pour 1/4 cup of hot water. Stir it well and cook until the sugar crystals dissolves completely. Transfer it into a bowl and allow to cool.When the caramel cools down it will harden which is common
  • In a bowl add eggs and beat it well until it becomes fluffy. Then add powdered sugar into it and beat well until sugar dissolves completely.
  • Add vanilla essence and oil into it and mix well
  • Then add the prepared caramel into it and mix well
  • Add orange peel into it and mix
  • In a sieve add all purpose flour, spice powders, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix well and sift it. Add this flour mix to the above prepared mix
  • Fold very gently with a spatula
  • Add the dry fruits mix into it and gently fold. Cake batter is now ready
  • Pour the batter into the greased baking pan and level the top. Tap it for removing air bubbles
  • Place a rack inside a pan. Heat up the pan with a lid for 5-7 min in medium flame
  • After 5 minutes, open the lid and place the cake pan on the rack
  • Close it with a lid and cook it in low flame for 40-45 minutes
  • After 45 minutes, open the lid and check the cake is cooked well or not by inserting a toothpick in the middle of the cake. If it came out clean, then the cake will be ready. If not, then cook for few more minutes until cake is cooked well
  • Carefully take out the cake pan and let it cool down completely
  • Once it’s cooled down completely, carefully remove the cake from the cake pan. 
  • Enjoy this yummy soft and moist cake
