Today I am here to post the recipe of a dish, which is prepared by my husabnd. My husband love to do experiments in kitchen, whenever he gets free time. He always love to taste variety dishes, so whenever he is cooking he will try to add some variety in the dishes he is cooking. This prawns recipe is also like that only. It is just like a normal prawns fry only, but for a variety he added drumstick, jackfruit seed and fried coconut pieces in it. It tastes delicious. Next time when you are preparing prawns fry just try to add drumstick, jackfruit seed and fried coconut pieces in it, then you can feel the difference in taste between this prawns fry and the normal prawns fry. Ingredients
Prawns (chemmeen) - 250 gm
Shallots - 3/4 cup (chopped)
Drumstick (Muringakka) - 1
Jackfruit Seeds (Chakkakuru) - 1/4 cup
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 1-2 spring
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Coconut pieces-1/4 cup
Water - 1/2 cup
Oil - 2 tbsp

Method Of Preparation
  • Clean the prawns .
  • Remove the outer skin of the jack fruit seeds and then clean and cut it into small pieces,lengthwise
  • Cut drumstick into 2 inch long pieces.
  • Cook drumsticks, jack fruit seeds and prawns in 1/2 cup water with salt,turmeric powder, chili powder, until everything cooked well and all the water has evaporated.
  • In a pan add oil.Splutter  mustard seeds then add curry leaves.
  • Add chopped shallots and saute till it becomes translucent.
  • Then add coconut pieces and fry it till it becomes golden brown in color
  • Add cooked drumsticks , jack fruit seeds and prawns to this and mix everything well and cook it for 2 mins.
  • Add  1 tsp coconut oil and fresh curry leaves at top
  • Delicious prawns fry is ready to serve hot with rice
